3/19/13 We spent the morning at BD wetlands and Hoover Dam, the latter in
late morning between the dam and the bridge. Highlights:

Mallard, 40; American Black Duck, 66; Northern Shoveler, 105 --!, migrants,
the highest number we've seen since last fall; Canvasback, 1f; Redhead, 2m)

5 -- migrants, 2 m, 3f)
Woodpeckers to waxwings (Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 2, av. 1/day in the area
since Jan. 1; Horned Larks, 7; Winter Wren, 1; Hermit Thrush, 3 - first
Ive seen here - hemlocks at Kuhlwein Rd./Darby Rd. -- in sometime; Cedar
Waxwing, 10)
Warblers (only Myrtle, mostly fly overs, giving their distinctive 'chip')
SPARROWS (Eastern Towhee, 3; American Tree Sparrow, 11;Fox Sparrow, 3; Song
Sparrow, 1; White-throated Sparrow, 26; Dark eyed "Slate-colored' Junco, 17)
FINCHS (Two species: Purple Finch, 1m; EVENING GROSBEAK, 9, mostly ms,
flying over Darby House as seen from turn around at Kulhwein Rd/D Rd.)

Hoover Dam (all water open)
from N, park lot at dam and along first portion of dam
Waterfowl (Less Scaup, 32, 30 m, 2 f; BLACK SCOTER, 1m in middle; nice
orange knob; Bufflehead, 2; Hooded Merganser, 23)
Swallows (Tree Swallow,1 flying south along close shore)
Sparrows (SNOW BUNTING, 2, in parking lot, under picnic tables, grass

they lit on curb for excellent view--seems relatively late?)

Stuff is MOVING, good birding!
