Today at the feeder at my house in Dublin, there is a bird I have not seen before. First, I thought it was a goldfinch turned yellow early. However, it is somewhat larger than a finch, although it seems burred up. It has a bright yellow "beard" with the breast and underside white. The wings are black with white stripes. The back looks pale yellow. It must have an injured leg, because it hops awkwardly on the tray, but takes off in flight when I try to photograph it.

Any thoughts?

All the best,
Kent Larson
