I spent the morning helping a friend determine whether a new location might attract Prothonotary Warblers. He will now install nest boxes and hope for tenants come April.

I then visited the northeast shore of Hoover Reservoir to check the resident Bald Eagle nest and look for waterfowl. The Bald Eagles are doing fine and they are sitting on the nest looking content. Obviously they haven't seen tomorrow's weather forecast.

Waterfowl were limited in the area between the Eastshore Yacht Club and Pelican Island. Ring-necked Ducks monopolized the water as there were hundreds of them strung out across the reservoir. Beyond that there was only a lone Canvasback, about a dozen Wood Ducks and some American Coots.
