What birding. Just returned from watching common loon catch fish again.
Also saw 4 horned grebes, one pied-billed and a coot. Then an osprey
appeared overhead and soon after an immature bald eagle was dive-bombing
it. Osprey flew into a tree and then a second immature eagle joined the
other and they flew back and forth fairly low over the water. Then both
went into trees and a red-tailed hawk joined the three raptors in the same
wooded area. The hawk and osprey flew off and a third immature eagle
appeared. One of the other eagles joined it and they flew high in tandem
and crossing paths for about a minute or a little more and then flew out
of my range. WOW!
In the rest of Maple Bay( Buckeye Lake) I saw 4 hooded mergansers, 4 pied-
bill grebes, 2 gb herons, and numerous Canada geese.
