first day of this teacher's Spring Vacation - that can mean only one thing - birding @ Conneaut!! arrived just before 8:00TVultures everywhere - on the beach, on the ice mountains,dripping from the trees! i figure that there were 250+ ofthese guys today!GULLS - there was and area the size of 2 football fields on the beachand water that was packed with gulls today! easily 3,000!the noise from this group was AMAZING!!!mostly RBGulls<10% Herring Gulls20+ GBBGulls5+ LBBGulls50+ Bonies (a group of 300 flew west while i was there)Long-tailed Duck - 1Redheads - 100+Both Scaup sp - 200+ totalACoots - 25+Horned Grebes - 20+Mallards - 10+Killdeer - 30+CGrackles - 50+ (lots on the move)CGeese - 20 (many large groups 100+ heading north into lake)RWBbirds - 30+SongSparrow - 15+HoodedMerg - 50+Bufflehead - 1 buster
