Highlights at Killdeer for my Husband and I today: 18 Sandhill Cranes on the ground feeding and in flight. Just loved listening to their rattling calls. This was at pond 27 ( I think that's what they call it). Across the road was a flooded field with at least 70 Pectoral Sandpipers. Sunny, but still a chill in the air. Total species: 57.

Sally Isacco, Concord Twp.
