Matt Schwartz and I checked out the usual vantage points around the north end of Mosquito last night around 5-7 pm. 30+ species including several thousand ducks, mostly at scope range, in the bay in front of the islands. One solitary female Black Scoter gave some great views from the landing at the Refuge boundary. It was in front of the loose raft of Scaups, Ring-Necks, baldpates, Bufflehead, etc., working its way north in front of the islands.

Also seen on the circuit from Mespo were Shovelers and Gadwalls along 87 near Penniman Rd, 2 Cranes in a field at the same location, and several Pintail + 2 Redheads at Mosquito. And also 2 Ospreys on the nesting platform at mosquito. Also a half dozen cold fishermen in waders.
