An overly busy schedule has kept me out of the field so today the field came to me. Walking from the front door to the mailbox at our Southern Delaware County home I was greeted by no less than 23 Eastern Bluebirds. Other activity included flyovers by an adult Bald Eagle and a Great Blue Heron, a Northern Mocking Bird on the on the dormer and a pair of amorous Mourning Doves.

Only 45 days until the first Prothonotary Warblers should arrive at Hoover Reservoir. That is my day to declare Spring has sprung!

Charlie B.
