The movement of temperate migrants continued today, as I made brief stops at several points along Big Walnut Creek south of Woodside Green (where the McNulties found their bonanza), including McCorkle Park area, Creekside, and Friendship Park. There were steady #s of migrants in roughly 1.5 hour, including:
N.Flickers - 5-6
Sapsuckers - 10+
Red-br.Nuthatch - 1 in pines by Founder's Ridge development
Brown Creepers - 2-3
Ruby-cr.Kinglet - 1
Golden-cr.Kinglets - 16-20, mostly around isolated stands of conifers
Hermit Thrush - 2
Brown Thrasher - 1 singing at McCorkle Park
Yellow-thr.Warbler - 1 singing at Friendship Park, another near Shull Park
Yellow-rumped Warblers - 6-8, mostly around Friendship Park
Louisiana Waterthrush - 1 singing along Old Ridenour Road where it sweeps close to Big Walnut Creek north of McCorkle
Chipping Sparrows - 5-6 singing (this is their breakout singing day)
Tree Sparrow - a small migrant flock of 5 in Friendship Park
Field Sparrows - 2 at 2 different locations
Fox Sparrow - 1 singing in scub near McCorkle Park
White=throated Sparrows - small flocks of 6-10 birds in many locations
