Great Horned Owls, nesting timeline...end of Jan, 30 days incubation =
hatch end of Feb, 5-6 weeks to fledge = mid-April....is that good if
imprecise guestimate?

And what do GHO's do during the day? Do they ever just, you know, hang,
take a nap, in the nest after the kids are gone?
I found a nest yesterday, very distant look. Looked like a bird
hunkered down in it (windy, cool). There are lots of RTHs around so
that's probably the most likely, are they on nests now?
But I've been hoping to find a GHO nest, I know they are around. Know
of two RTH nests, wondering where all the GHO nests are. Had read they
sometimes co-opt RTH nests.
If GHO young have fledged and GHOs more or less abandon nests after I've
missed my shot.

Thanks,

Marie, Fairborn OH
