This may seem mundane to everyone who is up at Magee oogling warblers, but I'm watching on of my neighborhood blue jays strip fibers from last year's milkweed stalks for nesting material.  I've also seen Baltimore orioles do this so for the past several years I've left the stalks in my flower beds until mid-June in spite of their unsightlyness!
