Yesterday, as I was checking Kilby Rd. Grave
Ohio and Indiana birders,

Yesterday, as I was checking Kilby Rd. Gravel Pits (w. Hamilton Co., OH) for Lark Sparrows, to no avail, one of the Plegadis ibises, presumably one of the birds recently reported from Fernald Preserve (w. Hamilton Co., OH) flew in around 7:25 p.m. and continued over the lake at Kilby Rd. Gravel Pits making a bee-line for the Oxbow in Lawrenceburg, IN (Dearborn Co.). I am not pinpointing an ID on this bird due to one of the Fernald birds being ID from photographs as a hybrid White-faced x Glossy Ibis. Both birds at Fernald have been widely reported as White-faced. This bird was in flight during the entire 1-2 minute observation period. As the bird flew in front of me at a fairly low altitude, just above the treeline, I was able to see some white around the face, but one bird ID as a hybrid at Fernald also had white around the face, so this is not definitive as a White-faced. Since the bird was in flight, I was unable to get a good look at eye color.
