The Bird Count for June was conducted yesterday, June 12.    Thanks to Adam, Aimee, Chris Knoll for helping with the count.  We also had a birder from AZ join us and she got at least 5 life birds!
The following were seen or heard:

Pied-billed grebe, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Great Egret, Black-Crowned Night-Heron, Lease Bittern, Trumpeter Swan, Canada Goose, Mallard, Blue-winged teal, Wood Duck, Bald Eagle, Common Gallinule, Killdeer, Herring Gull, Ring-billed gull, Common Tern, Caspian Tern, Mourning Dove, Yellow-billed cuckoo,  RT Hummingbird, N. Flicker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, E. Kingbird, Great-crested flycatcher, E. Phoebe, Alder Flycatcher, Willow Flycatcher, E. Wood Pewee, Tree Swallow, Barn Swallow, Purple Martin, Black-capped chickadee, House Wren, Carolina Wren, Marsh Wren, Gray Catbird, Am. Robin, Cedar Waxwing,  E. Starling, Red-eyed vireo, E. Starling, Warbling Vireo, Prothonotary Warbler, Yellow Warbler, American Redstart, Common Yellowthroat, Red-winged blackbird, Baltimore Oriole, Common Grackle, Brown-headed Cowbird, N. Cardinal, Indigo bunting, Chipping Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Am Goldfinch and House Sparrow.

Yes, May is over, but there are still lots of interesting birds to see here at Magee Marsh.
The next Bird Count will be July 17 beginning at 8 am from the Bird Center.    Join us if you can!
