A short time ago, at 2:45PM, Friday afternoon, while walking by the double culvert pipe on Hoagland-Blackstub Road, we saw an adult Mississippi Kite flying south over the traditional shorebird area on the east side of the road. It quickly disappeared over the trees and went out of sight heading toward Mahan Denman Road. It is 3:30PM and we have not relocated the bird. Look for an all light gray bird showing a black tail when in flight. The location was the northwest corner of Mosquito Creek Reservoir in the northeast corner of Trumbull County on Hoagland-Blackstub Road north of Mahan Denman Road. The water level of Mosquito Creek Reservoir is presently very high.
