Hello All... This morning, Doreene Linzell, Joe Hammond (he's now back in Ohio!) and I observed a semi-palmated Sandpiper and 2 Willets at the Alum Creek Reservoir SP beach, just N of Columbus (also about a dozen Killdeer). A Red Knot had been reported there early yesterday morning (via e-bird, with a good description), but it was apparently 'moved on out' later that day, due to the July 4th celebrations being held there, and did not return this morning.

Also, no shorebirds were found today at the Delaware SP beach, further to the North. I see that 6 Willets were also reported today at the Lorain Impoundment (thanks, Helen!). We haven't seen the shorebird habitat there yet, but hope that it will continue to be one of the better stop-over locations for our Fall shorebird migrants. It's probably time for any/all us central OH 'locals' to start checking the Darby Creek Wetlands, SW of Columbus, for shorebird migrants, or in your area of OH. Our central OH Hoover Reservoir is still at the 'high water' level, but is often 'let down' early. Will keep you updated.

Good Birding,
Dan Sanders
Central Ohio
