At about 10:45AM, the two previously reported visiting American Avocets began calling. Shortly after, they took flight and rendezvoused with a third in the air, and then returned to their original resting area on the sandbar. How cool is that? Some of the other new arrivals at the sandspit are a single Osprey, two Belted Kingfishers, and three Caspian Terns. It is presently 11:50AM; my wife Denise and Diane Baughman are enjoying lunch on the sunny Conneaut Sandspit, in the company of the three avocets. The departed dakish looking gull was not positivitely identified.

Bob Lane / again sent from Willow Island, West Virginia
