Imagine my astonishment today when I looked up and saw a white bird with a
red spot on its breast! What's that? Well, here it is.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/85567104@N05/. It appears to have a damaged
right wing (this was the only position the bird offered before flying away).
One could speculate that being white makes it is an easier target for
predators. It did not seem to inhibit its ability to fly, and it was up
maybe 50 feet from the ground. Even though I used a 400mm lens the pictures
needed cropping.

I did a Google Images search and only saw one other picture. Do I get extra
points in eBird for this posting? I didn't think so L.

Enjoy,

Matt Valencic
