Thanks to all who responded to the discussion on weird bird names.  WOW, some birds really have a lot of colloquial names, and some are really funny....my favorite may be the Black-legged Kittiwake, aka "tickleass" (thanks Casey).  And a special thanks to Roger & Bill.  Don't worry, I am NOT writing a book, though I do now have a good start on one.  
 
And to think I went from thinking a Great Blue Heron is a shy bird that pokes around in the water (shypoke) to realizing a Green Heron is a bag of sh*t (shytepolk)
