We visited "The Sandspit" from 3:30PM to 5:30 PM this afternoon. It was raining with a temperature of about 70 degrees. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. Shorebirds seen were 21 Sanderlings, 1 Ruddy Turnstone in gorgeous breeding plumage, 1 Semipalmated Plover, 1 Short-billed Dowitcher, 1 Semipalmated Sandpiper, 1 Lesser Yellowlegs, 2 Killdeer, and 2 Spotted Sandpipers.
