Lucine Wright and Sandy Albrecht, both from the Marietta area in southern Ohio, made the 225 mile plus pilgrimage northeast today, Wednesday, to The Conneaut Harbor Area. Shortly after their 3PM arrival, they were rewarded with the company of five gorgeous breeding plumage American Avocets. The celebrity avian visitors were still on "The Sandspit" upon the birding duos departure at 5:15PM. Some of their other highlights were 8 Bald Eagles, numerous Bank Swallows, and an assortment of small shorebirds. The girls are planning an early morning return to "The Sandspit" tomorrow. Hopefully, excitement will greet them!
