After last nights 30, I thought that the peak of first-wave Nighthawks had passed. Wrong. This evening, as storm clouds rolled in from the west, a long ragged flock of 148 was strung out along the Big Walnut Greenbelt here in Gahanna. All of them were high up, and not a one was calling, as is typical of migrant birds here.
