Bob,

Thanks for the location information. Stopped by here yesterday on the way back from Cincinnati.

There were additional sandpipers further down the way a bit but didn't want to startle the ones close by. Also some ducks (probably Mallards)

Sightings included:
3 Green Heron
4 Killdeer (probably more, but they kept flying around)
1 Solitary Sandpiper
2 Lesser Yellowlegs
2 Semipalmated Sandpiper
3 Least Sandpiper
1 Pectoral Sandpiper
32 Mourning Dove
8 Barn Swallow
2 Eastern Bluebird
1 Northern Mockingbird
12 Red-Winged Blackbird
3 Brown-Headed Cowbird
1 Baltimore Oriole

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Cincinnati Zoo Ecowetland Shorebirds

Larry Gara and I struck out to find the Cincinnati Zoo Ecowetland this
morning and did so straightforwardly.  Here is the URL of an annotated,
scaleable map:

http://bit.ly/16x0DEj

There was not a great deal of habitat available, but it held some good
things, especially in view of the paucity of shorebirds in this corner of
the state.  We had a family group of Mallards, both yellowlegs, a couple of
pectorals, a few Least Sandpipers, and a half dozen Killdeer.  Best we have
managed so far this season.

Nice place.  Has potential.

Cheers,

Bob
