Hello all,

The shorebird spectacle at Middle Harbor (East Harbor SP) this afternoon, 23 August, was the best I've experienced there so far this fall.

At least 100 Semipalmated Plovers, with 2 Black-bellied.

Approaching 500 Semi and Least Sandpipers in total.

5-6 juvenile Baird's Sandpipers.

No fewer than 35 juvenile Stilt Sandpipers.

Two Red Knots.

Over 80 Pectoral Sandpipers.

The continuing 5 juvenile Red-necked Phalaropes.

The south edge of Middle Harbor, just N of the exit road, is a good place to start before working your way up to the north end via Buck Rd. There's a lot of habitat to check now and the birds are spreading out and taking advantage of it.

Good birding,
Justin Bosler
