I spent several hours around the south end of Alum Creek Lake State Park (southern Delaware Co.) looking for early migrants. I stopped at New Galena boat launch area and the beach and Visitor's Center areas. While most nocturnal migrants were scanty, vireos put up good numbers. They were eclipsed by day-flying migrant swallows, however, and the burgeoning gull flock at the beach. Notables included:

Shorebirds - not much other than Kildeer around the beach
Gulls - the flock on the beach was 500+ despite many early swimmers. All Ring-bills except 3 Herring and 2 Caspian Terns.
Hummingbirds - 2 were at New Galena, while another was around the Visitor's Center
Flycatchers - lots of E.Wood Pewees (12+), but nothing else besides a brief glimpse of an unidentified Empidonax
Swallows - good movement along the beach or just offshore; between 9:30-10:00, I watched 185 Cliff, 44 Barn, and 3 unidentified swallows cruising south along the beach and over the dam, usually in small loose flocks.

Vireos - 9 Warbling and 5 Red-eyed were scattered between the two main areas, while New Galena had 1 White-eyed
Thrushes - 1 Wood was lurking in the woods near the Visitor's Center; small Robin flocks were at several spots
Mimids - lots of Catbirds at both sites, while New Galena had 2 Brown Thrashers and the Visitor's Center had a Mockingbird
Warblers - few, with single Black&Whites and Chesnut-sided at both sites. New Galena also had 2 Blackburnian and 1 Canada, while the beach area had 1 Yellow and 1 Tennessee.

Sparrows - small flocks of Chippings and Fields at both spots likely were resident family groups
Icterids - 1 Baltimore Oriole was at New Galena, while small #s of Redwings & Grackles were at both sites
