Many thanks to Randy Rowe for his post. I mostly duplicated his sightings
yesterday
@ the Wilderness Rd drained ponds today. I did manage to sight an AMERICAN
BITTERN
and saw a mink walking along the shoreline too.
I stopped at the Funk Bottoms Wildlife Area on the way home and walked the
very overgrown trail
past the Observation Tower. There is a nice mud area on the north end of
one of
the ponds about 1000 yards or so back. I saw several LEAST SANDPIPERS,
PECTORAL
SANDPIPERS, KILLDEER, 2 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, a SPOTTED SANDPIPER, and a GREEN
HERON in this area.
I also saw nice flock of BLUE-WINGED TEAL on the deep pond on the east side
of the trail.
