I spent an hour or so birding along the edge of development in Hilliard, roughly along the area of Clover-Goff Creek. I started along the bikepath between Spindler & Frank Parks, and had most of the expected field edge birds, including lots of Indigo Buntings, Field Sparrows, & Catbirds. Notable here were 2 Great Egrets (at a pond north of Roberts Rd) and an immature Vesper Sparrow in a field just south of Roberts Rd.
Afterwards I went down to the Clover Cemetery wetland, along Alton-Darby Creek Rd south of I-70. Water levels in the wetland were fair, and it sported Great Blue & Green Herons and Great Egrets. Along the back treeline was a singing male Blue Grosbeak, a species I've not seen at this site. It is, however, only about 3 miles NE of the Battelle Darby Wetlands, where they've been seen sporadically for 2 years.
