Myself and Ryan G. birded along western L. Erie yesterday 9/7. We had a good day overall. This morning I wrote up a day list, we ended up with 70+ species; with 14 shorebirds and 13 warblers tallied. We didn't find anything really rare. Warblers were encountered at several places - Magee Marsh Boardwalk, behind the BSBO building, and at East Harbor SP. Most numerous were blackpolls and magnolias. Most species had multiple individuals seen. At the end of the Crane Creek Estuary Trail there were still a dozen long-billed dowitchers visible at scope range. Also at the estuary: blue-winged and green-winged teal, n. shovelers, and a sora. There were impressive numbers of terns at the estuary and also at East Harbor SP (Middle Harbor). We couldn't find a black tern though. Craig Holt, Lowellville
