Beautiful sight. If nighthawks flash mob, then I think it looks something
like last night.

Driving on State Route 753 south of Greenfield in Highland County. Between
7:00 - 7:20pm. Feeding fairly close to the group for a mile or two in the
valley on both sides of the lake. Largest group counted was 125+. A couple
with 60-70 individuals, a couple more in the 40s, three in the 20s, and at
least 7 flocks of 8-10 individuals.

I kept pulling over to watch and count but its a dangerous stretch of road
to do that so short bursts. If I hadn't been driving, I wouldn't have
realized there were so many individual birds within a 3-4 mile stretch.

I can't image how many nighthawks had roasted around the lake during the
day and were fueling up for the next leg of their journey.
