Monday morning saw a major migration along the Lake Erie coast. WNW winds
and early fog resulted in a large warbler arrival with many flight calls
announcing their arrival from pre-dawn through early morning. Seventeen
species of warbler were banded at BSBO's Navarre banding station with large
numbers of Blackpoll's and the best movement of the fall for Magnolia and
American Redstart. The season's first Hermit thrush and Yellow-breasted
Chat were captured as well. But the biggest surprise was the Stations first
Audubon's Warbler. Photos of the adult female can be seen on BSBO's
Facebook page.
