Greetings-

Donna Owen, Liz McQuaid, Chuck Slusarczyk Jr. and I set sail out of Whiskey Island in an attempt to get out beyond the Crib today, but NW winds whipped up and shut down our small boat attempt. The rest of the day was spent primarily within CLE harbor where we encountered 27 species including 6 species of shorebirds on the breakwall: Ruddy Turnstones, Sanderlings, many Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers, SpottedSandpipers, and a single well-photographed BAIRD'S. I had very brief but solid looks at an immature PARASITIC JAEGER beyond the breakwall. A single Bonaparte's Gull was seen, in contrast to the hundreds staging in NW Ohio at this time.
