Last evening I had over 500 Green Darner Dragonflies "swarming" around me
and cruising over my yard, field and the adjacent property. There may have
been other species but from what I could tell from the ones that were near
me they were all the same. A friend experienced the same thing in Mahoning
County at Mill Creek Park. I had this occur about 17 years ago at my prior
home in southern Trumbull County. I believe there is a name for this
phenomenon but can't recall it. Comments?
Also, I had one Nighthawk fly over at dusk - the only one I've seen/heard
this year.
