Blendon Woods Metro Park is located in northeast Columbus off of I 270 &
Rte 161. Take the Little Turtle Way exit.

This Fall & last week have been GREAT at Blendon Woods Metro Park. This
week we had 25 different types of Warblers. We have had Broad-winged &
Sharp-shinned Hawks migrate through the park. We have had 4 different
types of Vireos

A great place to find Warblers is on the branches of the American Beech
that are covered with Wooly Ageldids. The branches appear white & moving.
The Birds have been eating these insects like crazy!!!

A good plan to Bird watch here is to start in the Nature Center Parking
Lot, especially around the pipeline cut. Next go to the beginning of
Sugarbush Trail & view Birds along the tree line. Next go to the Goldenrod
Trail. After that trail walk the Lake Trail & visit Thoreau Lake. Next go
to Hickory Ridge Trail & the first 150 yards of Brookside Trail. Next go to
Ripple Rock Trail. If you have time I would walk the Lake Trail again. As
you Bird the trails, visit the Bird Viewing Window at the Nature Center

I would like to thank all the Visitors who helped find these Birds.
