First of all, I wanted to thank all the people who sent me suggestions for
getting more out of eBird. I thought the Ohio Bird Hotspots website was
perfect for seeing what other birders are seeing and posting to eBird. And,
after doing a lot of searching online, I really appreciate having access to
this page:

I also wanted to pass along another site I found just by searching around.
It doesn't have a map or list of counties. But, it could help you if you are
traveling to another state:

I think I read somewhere that the person who developed this page is still
working on it. It is a first release. I found this second site because a
person who regularly posts to this page is traveling. He was relying on the
Hot Spots maps to find good birding areas in a state in the Pacific
Northwest. I sent him the link to this second site. Maybe someone else can
post some more suggestions for helping birders who are traveling to find
good birding areas. I know if I had the chance to travel to the Bay Area I
would contact some of the Flickr Contact I have out there who mainly shoot
birds.

Finally, I wanted to let everyone here from NE Ohio know that the Cuyahoga
Libraries have five copies of the new Warbler Guide. The Akron Library
doesn't appear to have it yet. (Maybe we need to put in some requests for
them to get it.)

The Cuyahoga County Library has one copy of the older Peterson Field Guide
to Warblers, which I am holding in my hand right now. It is pretty good. I
wish I had it a couple of weeks ago when I was out looking for fall
warblers. It has some wonderful plates with variations on the birds and one
plate on undertail patterns. Some plates have up to 12 images of one species.
