The Columbus Audubon trip to these 2 reservoirs north of Columbus found periods of rain and clear, but no big migrant fallouts.  We started at Alum Creek Lake, first at the beach and Visitor's Center areas, then the New Galena launch area.  After that we moved over to Hoover, where we stopped at Oxbow Island, after which I made brief stops at the Galena boardwalk and the Sunbury causeway. While the water level at AlumCreek Lake remains high, the Hoover water level has dropped enough to produce substatial flats around Oxbow Island and the Boardwalk, though sandpiper flocks were scarce. Migrant landbird flocks were also hard to come by, but we did tally lots of individual species to build a decent list.  Notables included:

Great Egrets - 16+ were in the bay near Galena and the boardwalk, and there were more off the Redbank Rd and Sunbury causeway
Waterfowl - 2 Green-winged Teal were off the Boardwalk
cormorants - many were scattered around the different spots on Hoover Reservoir, perhaps 120+ in total
Shorebirds - the mudflats around the Boardwalk are appearing, and held 40+ Kildeer, 1 Solitary Sandpiper, 3 Lesser Yellowlegs, and 2 Least Sandpipers

Gulls - Ring-bills were widespread, with 560 on the Alum Creek Lake beach the high.  Other gulls were very scare, as I only found 1 Herring (off the Sunbury causeway)

Forster's Terns - 3 were with the large Ring-bill Gull flock on the Alum Creek Lake beach
Osprey - 1 was fishing south of Oxbow Island
Raptors - very few, but we did find a Cooper's and a Shrpie at Alum Creek Lake
Sapsuckers - 2 were around the beach area at Alum Creek Lake, while another was on Oxbow Island
Flycatchers - a Wood Pewee was at Oxbow Island, while an E.Phoebe was at the north end of the Alum Creek Lake beach area
Swallows,Swifts - not a single one, despite the mild day
BlueJays - small #s at all sites, but no large migrating flocks
Vireos - Red-eyed were at New Galena and Oxbow Island
Winter Wren - 1 was calling around the disc golf course at New Galena
Thrushes - a few Swainson's were still heard around New Galena and Oxbow Island
Mimids - Catbirds were in many locations, and Mockingbirds were at the Alum Creek Lake beach area and along Oxbow Rd.
Warblers - no great numbers anywhere, but the day did mark the ascendence of Yellow-rumps, as they were the most common at almost every site.  Other species included a very late YELLOW WARBLER (at the Boardwalk), Tennessee, Nashvilles, Magnolia, CapeMays (several spots), Black-thr.Greens, Blackpolls, and Redstart

Sparrows - very slow day, with only a handful of Chipping and Song Sparrows, mostly at New Galena
Blackbirds - flocks of Redwings and Grackles, along with a few cowbirds, graced the beach area at Alum Creek Lake
Finches - nothing other than the expected House Finches and Goldfinches, and not many of either
