Birding around Cleveland today, the Columbus Avid Birders observed the long-standing visitor from the south at Wendy Park this afternoon. The Brown Pelican was loafing on the breakwall between the lighthouses, strongly resembling a rock as its posterior was aimed at its observers, but brief head raises confirmed it's status as a bird. Also present were 2 Greater Black-backed Gulls and 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Other trip highlights included 2 Nelson's Sparrows at Wake Robin, and a bobolink and numerous sparrows of various flavors at Lorain impoundment.
