Hi Folks,

If you haven't registered for the Ohio Avian Research & Conservation Conference yet, time is running out. The deadline to register is October 12th. The conference is being held on Saturday, October 19th at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

This conference is sponsored by: The Dawes Arboretum, Columbus Audubon, East Central Ohio Audubon, Kaufmann Field Guides, BioQuip, and has been endorsed by the Ohio Ornithological Society and Black Swamp Bird Observatory.

The Ohio State University Ornithology Club (@osubirds) will be live-tweeting the event, for those interested in following-along via social media.

*The Licking County Bird Fun & Nature (FAN) Club is offering three student poster awards in the amounts of $100 (1st prize), $75 (2nd prize), and $50 (3rd prize). These poster awards are to recognize students doing excellent research and furthering our understanding of birds and their biology, and will support further research & education of student scientists.

We have a great line-up of speakers and topics for this conference:

-"Geographic variability of two Appalachian songbirds"--Andy Jones, Ph.D., & Courntey Brennan, M.S., Cleveland Museum of Natural History

-"Making sense of looney tunes: The role acoustic signals in play in territory selection and defense by Common Loons (Gavia immer)"--Jay Mager, Ph.D., Ohio Northern University

If your organization or agency would like to be represented at the conference, there is still time to purchase an exhibitor table via the event registration site. It is only $20 for organizations and $50 for vendors. Your organization's representative will also need to register for a boxed lunch.
