I did a quick stop to the Alum Greenway bikepath in Westerville and found that the red-phase Screech Owl has returned to the old trestle bridge along the bikepath. This evening it was is the NW corner of the bridge; tail & lower body were easily visible, but the head remained in shadow. I could not find any bird at the tree hole about 1/3 mile further north along the bikepath, but screech owls have been known to hide in this tree cavity as well. Other interesting birds along this stretch of bikepath included 4 Brown Creepers in the riparian woods and a Hooded Merganser on Otterbein Lake.
