Clara Cooper-Mullin and I visited Hoover Reservoir late this afternoon.  The
reservoir was mostly devoid of bird life, but a nice variety of water birds
were present at Oxbow Road.  The highlight was 2 Red-necked Grebes in the
cove on the south side of the road.  Both were in transitional plumage, with
rusty necks and white cheeks still present.  See the eBird checklist below
