I had a fairly productive 2 1/2 hours at Mosquito Lake and Wildlife Area
this morning but did not locate the Snowy Owl. I did see lots of waterfowl,
including all three mergansers and one Black Scoter, and some odds and
ends. A lone Eastern Meadowlark was a surprise.

Red-breasted Merganser (500+)

Lots of Bonaparte's and Ring-billed Gulls
Tundra Swan (45)
Canada Goose (1200+)
Gadwall (135)
Northern Shoveler (5)
Lesser Scaup (45)
Goldeneye (30)
Mallard (200)
Bald Eagle (1)

Refuge:
Great Blue Heron (1)
Eastern Meadowlark (1)
Horned Lark (5)
American Robin (1)
Rough-legged Hawk (1)
Northern Harrier (1)
Red-tailed Hawk (7)
American Tree Sparrows and Northern Juncos in small mixed flocks
Downy, Hairy, & Red-bellied Woodpecker (1 each)
Northern Flicker (1)
and nine other common species
