Today, at 8:15 am until about 9:00 a.m., the gannet was observed by 8 birders from East 55th Street. The bird was seen to the west sitting in the water and taking a short flight. You needed a scope to get a decent view.
 
On the way home, I stopped by Sims Park and had White-winged Scoters, Surf Scoters and two Long-tailed Ducks.
