While trying to relocate the Snowy owl in the Carey Christmas Count circle
I ran into a big group of Lapland longspurs in the same area near 199 and
47 just north of Upper Sandusky. Lets hope all the birds I've scouted can
be relocated on Friday. There is still open water around here but I fear
that is about to change. There were Great blue heron, and Belted kingfisher
at several locations and Tom Bartlett had a Short-eared owl and some Hermit
thrushes at Springville Marsh. Good luck to everyone on the New Year and
especially those trying for a January 100.
