I have recently completed an update of the Ohio eBird Hot Spot web site.

(The Ohio eBird Hot Spot web site is best viewed with the Firefox, Chrome,
or Safari browsers. Several features do not work with Internet Explorer.)

The BirdTrax gadget provides live data from eBird on rare bird sightings on
the home page and recent bird sightings on the county pages.

The new eBird Hot Spot Explorer, using the mapping tools from eBird, is on
each hot spot page. This map is interactive. You can click on a marker to
reveal more information about visible hot spots. You can move the map or
zoom in or out to look at more hot spots. You can open the Hot Spot
Explorer in a larger window.

When there is a map or trail map provided by a web site for the location,
there is an image and link to the map which you may follow to get more
information on locations you wish to visit. You can also use the "Get
Directions" feature in the eBird Hot Spot Explorer to use Google Maps to
get directions to any location.

There are now 1640 eBird hot spots in Ohio. Ohio birders keep suggesting
new locations.
