Yours is a common request as new members join the list. May I offer a
suggestion for the future?

Many places referenced are considered eBird Hot Spots. You can check
quickly as follows:

- go to www.ebird.org
- click on EXPLORE DATA
- click on HOTSPOT EXPLORER
- you will see a place to type in the name of the hotspot (top left of
screen). Type in Wendy Park as an example.
- select from the options shown in blue
- you now see map showing many 'hotspots' and an information window for
Wendy Park showing all the species seen there over the years
- to narrow the list down to what has been seen recently, look above the box
for a place showing DATE: Tap on it and you can select the month and the
year you wish to explore. In this case, select Jan and Current Year, then
SET DATE RANGE. Find Wendy Park again and you will see that 53 species have
been seen there in January and 46 checklists have been submitted.

If you would like to know more about using eBird just give me a holler!

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Request for more site location

Hello --
I am new to the list, so those of you familiar with places and locations may
know the site locations automatically.  It would be helpful for me (and
maybe others) if nearby towns were mentioned as well in the posts.
To list a park (Wendy Park?) or only county roads with nothing to reference
them to, leaves me unable to look at a map to see if they are anywhere near
me.
Thanks very much for your help!
