Hi all,

Another Snowy Owl was reported today, from Washington Courthouse in Fayette County. It was seen along Jamison Road on the west side of the city, between State Rte. 35/Dayton Ave. on the north, and State Rte. 62 on the south. The bird was probably about halfway between those two points. The gentleman who reported the bird initially thought it might be injured, as the owl was reticent to fly in spite of local activity, but it turned out that it had caught a rabbit.

By my reckoning that makes about 115 Snowy Owls in 40 counties, to date. If you want to see photos of an owl that collided with a pickup, and survived apparently unscathed, and another owl that took up residence on the grounds of a prison, visit my blog (URL in signature block, below).
