It was a very productive day of birding between Kidron and Shreve.  Friend Barbara Bauer, husband Tim & I found Horned Larks on Cunningham Rd, Snowy Owl just north of intersection of Harrison and S. Kansas Rd, Harris' Sparrow at the Fountain Nook Rd. residence, and an abundance of other raptors, including 2 Red-tail Hawks, 3 Kestrels and 4 Rough-legged Hawks, all within an hour.  Who needs The Wilds!?  We did dip on the Spotted Towhee south of Shreve but Mrs. Schlabach said she thinks someone who was there earlier in the day did see it.  Other notable birds included a lone Coot and several Black Ducks, White-crowned & White-throated Sparrows, and a heard only Red-headed Wood-pecker.
