As of 3:00 here are some highlights of the Carey Christmas Count
Tom Bartlett has pic's of a Peregrine falcon which we relocated moments ago
west of Springville Marsh. There was also a Merlin, Redhead and Gadwall at
the quarry pit in Carey. I got a Northern Shrike in the organic farm just
off of US 23 west of Carey. Earlier in the day we had a Tundra Swan, which
seemed to be iced in and stuck. The Horned larks, Snow buntings, and
Lapland longspurs were everywhere, but no relocation of the Snowy owls. All
in all it was a good day considering the temperatures and weather change
from the last days.
