To my knowledge, Stark County's first photo-documented Snowy Owl of the season was photographed yesterday (1/22). It was on Orrville St. just west of State Rt. 93. There is a harvested bean field along a long gravel private lane on the south side of Orrville Street just past the mailbox with the number 13610. The owl was photographed in the bean field and on the white plastic fence along the next lane to the east. A friend and I were not able to relocate the owl this afternoon but there are numerous large, flat cut corn fields nearby where it could easily be hanging out.
