My sharp-eyed husband has noted a male yellow-bellied sapsucker at our suet
feeder today here in Granville. The sighting is not the first time in our
yard, but it IS the first time in January! Looking at the range maps, I had
not realized this bird ever winters this far north -- I thought it went to
the deep south.
