Late this afternoon, I found two lapland longspurs picking through the manured fields
on Hayes Road and Nauvoo, along with a small flock of
horned larks and snow buntings. (This is near Middlefield.)
Farther along Hayes, near Peters, I saw close to two hundred
snow buntings...also beneficiaries of the manure that had
been spread on top on the snow.
It wasn't a very active time for the hawks of hawk alley, but I did see
two or three rough legged hawks and one red tail.
