The reasons I primarily use Facebook are...
I do not have a smartphone
I can log into one site and check on birds, horses, friends, news with one user/name login
Logging in to the listserv just to post can be a pain
I still find Ebird overwhelming

I agree. I do not use ebird currently but may in the future. And along this
thread though I am on a couple of the "bird" Facebook pages, this list is my
primary source of bird reports.

This current post about the northern shrike near the Wilds is a good case in
point regarding the current discussion for the need for cross-posting on
various lists. Telling us that the bird is in the same location as was
posted previously on ebird does little good to those of us who do not use
ebird.

I do not oppose the use of ebird, but I do not personally use it, preferring
to live in the world of paragraphs, descriptions, and complete thoughts.

Now, with that in mind, how far this bird was seen from an intersection
might be more useful. If not available, knowing that it is on Coal Run Road
will probably suffice.

Many thanks to Anthony for reporting in a timely manner from the field.
Nice bird!
